Barcelona!

I have been to Barcelona before, I ran up La Rambla to La Boqueria and I was next to the Columbus statue doing shuttle bus for a few hours. But I had not yet seen the Sagrada Familia or pretty much anything actually.

So Today,. I got to first have a little panoramic tour of the city going past all the weird and majestic buildings build by all the geniuses Barcelona had the privilege of having. We went past the Arc, the house Batlo and many more...
Barcelona to me is one of the most vibrant town. It really is always full of life, there is hardly a place you can find that isn't full. Full of beautiful places to discover, the Gothic Cathedral and quarters, so many shops to satisfy your spending hunger. Really, you cannot be bored in Barcelona. You won't have the time or the chance to.

I had been hearing so much about the Sagrada Familia and finally I was there, in front of it and yes, my mouth went to the floor. I am a great enthusiast when it comes to art, architecture and beautiful unique things in general but in this case, I had no idea what to think.
The Basilica because yes it is defined as a basilica is an overwhelming sight to look at. Its architecture is so busy, different, yes I know, It represents so many things and should tell a story but frankly, it was too much for me. I ran around the cathedral quickly and took in all the details it has. unfortunately, the outside of this magnificent place is not for me. I really could not make ends and tails of what was trying to be portrayed just by looking at it. Even taking pictures of the place is hard. I mean, you have cranes all around it, I know it is a construction site, and it is still going to be one for a very long time, I do not see this place being done any time soon.
I was happy being there and discovering something new but I was slightly disappointed as well. Not at all what I imagined or expected. Sometimes, simpler is better. But as I said, the outside did not do it for me but this time, I did not get to go inside so that's to be determined at a later stage.

Once my eyes were rested, we went for another little panoramic tour through the city, this time past the arena, that is now a huge shopping mall, then off to a reconstruction of a typical Spanish town. With a preschool in it and everything. It was cute, nothing special and in my opinion totally useless but I guess it is a nice area to walk around for a minute nothing more. Then all the way to Montjuic to admire a panoramic view of the city. And it is a great one!!!

And of course, while in town, if you have a few free minutes, you can always find a Desigual and of course, things you've never before seen... Such as this little pouch driven around in his own home-made cart!!!

Day was made... And Barcelona I love you!!
